The Volleyball History, Rules and Ranking start in 1895, William G. Morgan, an instructor at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) in Holyoke, Mass., decided to blend elements of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball to create a game for his classes of businessmen which would demand less physical contact than basketball. William George Morgan was the inventor of volleyball. There are both offensive and defensive tasks and one game event may result in both winning and losing points.

Each team has six starters and six alternates. Players enter change at any moment. However they may only be switched for the player who replaced them if they later return.
Ball must be return each team may hit the ball a maximum of three times. The defending team has a total of three attempts to block or return the ball by hitting it again.
25 points can be score in a game and a win must be two clear points.
Serving the ball cross the baseline.
The ball tries to cross the net but is stopped by it. If the ball hits the net and still goes over the net then this is perfectly legal.
The ball cannot be carried, palmed or run with by any player.
Any portion of a player body that touches the net is forbidden. This is acceptable.

A point is scored when a team wins a rally. If your team sends the ball over the net and the defending team fails to return the ball, you score a point. You can also win a point if the other team hit the ball out of the designated court boundary.
Volleyball game played to 15 points
Matches are played best of five sets. The first four sets are played to 25 points, with the final set being played to 15 points. A team must win a set by two points. There is no ceiling, so a set continues until one of the teams gains a two-point advantage. In indoor volleyball, the games are played to a total of 25 points for each set except the tie-breaker set. This final set will be played to 15 points.

World record for most volleyball passes in a row
The participants controlled the ball for at least 10 seconds. The Lady Patriots far surpassed the old record, setting a new benchmark of 1,027 consecutive volleyball passes, The Interior Journal reports. The new record of successful passes beats the previous record which was set by D.S.V.V.
More than 90,000 people packed into Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska to celebrate “Volleyball Day in Nebraska,” on Aug. 30. The event featured an exhibition game between the Wayne State Wildcats and Nebraska-Kearney, followed by an NCAA division I match-up between the Huskers (on their home turf) and Omaha Mavericks. The Huskers beat their rivals in a 3-0 sweep, and also broke several records in the process.

That’s the date the LA 2028 Olympics will officially begin, organizers have announced. The Games in Los Angeles will run until 30th July 2028, with the Paralympics following from 15 to 27 August 2028. It’ll be the third time the American city has hosted the Olympics.
